- I wanted to do an experiment, create a busy - heavily detailed painting, that when you put on glasses with red lenses (actually just blue light glasses), most of the painting would disappear. *see photo*

It got me thinking, about the term - rose coloured glasses - and how when we look back through a nostalgic lense, we miss so much of the narrative.

I wanted to put this onto canvas, the perfect blend of teenage angst, and looking back ever so fondly - missing large chunks of the story, in an idealistic way. Nostalgia in it's finest form.

By definition nostalgia is "a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for a past period".

And I think this piece captures it perfectly. Gosh it was fun to let the emotions run wild with this piece, and to let myself play.
